We enable placemakers to create ageless living experiences.

The ability to stay well has deep impacts on our relationships,

both professional and personal.

Each of us have knowledge, creativity, and passion that are vital resources to our society, but they must be nurtured. These resources are threatened by unhealthy environments which create physical illness, and poor mental health. In order to keep ourselves healthy, we need to better understand ourselves. Even more importantly, we need doctors to understand us better.

In the words of Thomas Edison, “The doctor of the future will give no medication but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.” For this to be a reality, doctors need data. Arguably the best place to start collecting data on health is the home.

There is a massive shortage of homes for aging in place.

According to the AARP in 2021, if given the choice, 77% of adults over 50 would prefer to age in place.

A 2020 U.S Census Bureau report estimated that only 10% of American homes are “aging ready,” with a step-free entryway, a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor, and at least one bathroom accessibility feature. While retrofitting homes is an option, there are limits to both available options and the effectiveness of those retrofitted spaces.

By thinking of our modular homes in terms of experiences, we create an increased level of attention to the design, technology, and furnishings.

Our living spaces are where many of us spend the majority of our time, and these places should take care of us. The experience of a home can be refined so that it is easy to use and take care of, especially as the occupant ages. Urbaneer homes are built smaller, creating a low-mainenance lifestyle. Our living environments reflect the principles of human-centered design, keeping the occupant experience at the center of every decision during product development.

Urbaneer provides this environment through our partner ecosystem that delivers life as a service: a comprehensive suite of services and care.

There is an abundance of wellness tech that can monitor and support the health of home occupants, but the missing ingredient is a consistent home experience in which data can be responsibly collected and aggregated. A home environment designed cohesively for wellness from the start has a far greater impact on the health outcomes of occupants than individually retrofitted products. This environment enables our home occupants to age in place, creating a higher quality of life.
